COSTAS NANGA

At Narva Boxing Gym—his daily training ground—undefeated boxer Costas Nanga became the face of CDLP’s Mobilité campaign. In conversation, he reveals the rituals, challenges, and philosophies that shape both his sport and his life beyond the ring.

You´re undefeated in the boxing ring, but do you always feel undefeated outside of it too?

Not at all, what would life be without defeats? Boring, without depth and a story to tell.

You must have a strong discipline as an athlete, does that influence how you live you everyday life?

Discipline is fundamental for an athlete. Discipline to stay creative, curious and true to myself.

When you are not training or competing, how do you relax your body and mind?

I relax through other stimulus, my favourites are backgammon, music and sauna. Them three together is a perfect 3-piece combo.

The ethos for the collection is “Strength through clarity and control”, what is your best advice for someone trying to find that kind of strength in their own life, whether it´s in sports, work or personally?

Strength is more than physics and being loud. It comes from a place of inner stillness and self-sureness, from within. For me, it’s about asking the tough questions – being honest with myself, and consistently showing up for my values and beliefs, day after day.

You must have worn a lot of sportswear before; how does the Mobilité collection stand out?

3 words. Less is more!

CL: Your use of architectural forms and natural shapes is striking. How do you see the relationship between body and space in your visual storytelling?

LL: I truly love the combination of bold and soft shapes, square and round. Brutalisme and high fashion. shutters and tiles. Glass and steel. Rocks and sea, etc. This interplay offers a rich canvas for exploring a lot of things, but most of all it gives me the perfect opportunity to combine the things I just simply love.
