Financial Controller/Accountant

CDLP is looking for a detail-oriented Financial Controller/Accountant to join our team. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will be instrumental in building the Finance department, managing our financial operations and driving automation initiatives, as we continue on our global growth journey as the world's leading house of luxury essentials.


Position Overview:


The Financial Controller/Accountant will oversee all accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance, while also driving finance operations through automation. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in accounting and a keen interest in leveraging technology to enhance our financial processes.


Your tasks will include but not be limited to:


  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger management.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports, ensuring compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
  • Manage the audit process, coordinating with external auditors together with CFO and ensuring timely and accurate completion of audits.
  • Prepare and file VAT reports, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and timely submissions.
  • Analyze financial performance and provide insights to management to support strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for operational improvement and implement automation solutions.
  • Assist in the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, providing financial analysis and variance reporting.
  • Ensure timely and accurate tax compliance and filings, working closely with external tax advisors.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in finance and accounting technology.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Proven experience (2-3 years minimum) in accounting or financial management, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Strong analytical skills with a detail-oriented approach to problem-solving.
  • Fluency in Swedish and English (written & spoken) is required, additional language skills (e.g. French or German) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Fortnox); OMS (e.g., Shopify) and/or ERP systems; PC applications (MS Excel); experience with automation tools (e.g., RPA, Excel macros) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Experience in process improvement and finance operations automation is highly desirable.
