Chief Financial Officer

We are now hiring a visionary CFO to steer our financial ship and be a crucial architect of our future. We are looking for a person who will play a vital role in the strategic trajectory of CDLP, while being responsible for all financial aspects of the business. Collaborating closely with the CEO and management team, you will shape and execute financial strategies aligned with our growth objectives. Your ability to combine a robust commercial perspective with an agile financial acumen will be essential to your success in the role.

The role requires a deep understanding of accounting and financial management, modelling, reporting, alongside commercial assessments. We believe that you are a person with a strong business mind, have excellent analytical skills and are a very driven person motivated by complex challenges who thrives in a business that is characterized by quick decisions and a fast pace. Furthermore, you are highly result-oriented, organized and are used to working in an environment with tight deadlines.

The role is broad and combines the roles of CFO, Financial Controller, Business Controller and Data Analyst in one, enabling you to impact all aspects of the firm while requiring you to become the centerpoint of the organization regarding financial guidance and data analysis. Daily interactions with the ecom team are an inherent characteristic of the role as you discuss cohort dynamics and marketing spend optimization.

The finance team consists of yourself and an external bookkeeping person, alongside various advisors.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Financial and revenue modeling: you'll ensure our monthly three-statement model is state of the art and you have special responsibility for forecasting ecom revenue and inventory purchasing amounts. Metrics like CAC and COS are just as close to heart as gross margin and VAT flows, and you enjoy optimizing all of them.
  • Data wizard: you will be the centerpoint and go to person for data analysis, both non-financial and financial. Cohort analysis and customer trends/behaviours excite you as much as large data sets.
  • Reporting & KPIs: You'll take charge of our financial and business reporting, including all KPIs, seeking additional automation and streamlining of our reporting processes. You will monitor vital financial and business metrics and trends, delivering actionable insights and offering guidance to optimize performance and profitability. You provide sharp reporting to the management team and board alongside strategic recommendations driven by financial insights and cash availability.
  • Cost control: You will have full P&L responsibility and pursue continuous costs cutting in the business.
  • Budget and reforecasting: you will lead the annual budgeting process, collaborating closely with department heads to ensure accurate forecasting and resource allocation. Given the volatility of the industry, reforecasting is done on a monthly basis to steer cash runway and purchasing.
  • Financial Close & Accounting: You'll be the guardian of our monthly and annual financial close procedures, while overseeing the audit process.
  • Cash Management: you enjoy optimizing cash management in our various markets.
  • Tax compliance: all tax-related matters will be your domain to ensure the firm is tax compliant in all its jurisdictions.
  • Capital Structure & Financing: you'll steer our capital structure, managing debt negotiations with banks while finding new innovative financing solutions.
  • Legal: you will be responsible for all legal aspects of the firm in collaborations with legal advisors. The work includes, but is not limited to establishment of foreign subsidiaries, structuring of efficient transfer pricing models, incentive programs structuring, SHA interpretations etc.
  • Investor Relations: Alongside the CEO you will be the face of CDLP to our shareholders, keeping them in the loop with exceptional reporting, answering ad hoc questions on performance, SHA, cap table etc.
  • Board of directors: you will be an integral collaborator with the board, steering our monthly financial meetings and participate in most statutory board meetings. You are able to describe complex financial considerations in a simple way and provide solid recommendations.
  • Stakeholder management: you will be responsible for liaising with auditors, tax advisers, legal advisers, banks and owners.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: ensure adherence to financial regulations, legal requisites, and internal policies. Develop risk management strategies to mitigate FX exposure.

We're seeking a CFO who is as visionary as we are. The ideal candidate should have:

  • Robust financial modeling skills.
  • Advanced accounting knowledge with consolidation accounting.
  • Broad financial experience: You bring a full suite of financial skills, including financial reporting, financial control, financial planning and analysis, investor relations, and legal structuring aspects.
  • Digital B2C experience: previous experience from a digital B2C company is a must.
  • Retail / Fashion / Lifestyle industry experience is a plus.
  • Startup / scaleup savvy: experience from a scale-up company is a strong merit.
  • Language Proficiency: Your english, both written and verbal, is excellent.
