A longtime friend of CDLP, Jwan Yosef is a conceptual painter based in Los Angeles. In close collaboration with the artist, we expand our advancement of daily essentials into a limited edition capsule of artist's essentials, consisting of a coverall and two t-shirts.
“The first thing I do is to undress and dress into my coverall. It’s a very basic garment, but what it does is that it covers your whole body, and it becomes this ceremonial experience of having something used repeatedly for this one purpose, which is to create art.”
Made in Sweden: the Coverall is the first CDLP product made locally at Malmö Industries, a micro-manufacturer specialising in small-scale collections. Their practice of local production minimises footprint and transportation, boosts local economy and textile industry, while equitable working conditions benefit a primarily immigrant population.
The tailored coverall is crafted from a unique blend of woven Tencel™️ lyocell and linen, made in a limited run of 50 pieces. The coverall is presented in a custom box made of recycled craft board. Two heavyweight t-shirts in recycled and organic cotton in colours “Desert Sand” and “Masking Tape” complete the capsule.
